KAASKAS was founded in Warsaw in 2014 by two sisters: fashion designer Kasia Skórzyńska and sociologist Julia Skórzyńska–Ślusarek. Born in Poland, both sisters spent their childhood years in Brazil — country which strongly influenced their taste and sense of aesthetics. Inspired by the intense and diverse beauty of the South and at the same time fascinated by the simple elegance of the traditional Japanese and Chinese garments, KAASKAS represents a multidisciplinary approach to fashion design. It is open to artistic experiment, constantly exploring new paths and forms of expression. KAASKAS’s most characteristic features include vivid prints, unobvious color combinations and geometrical forms. The unique, edgy looks capture the essence of a modern lifestyle. KAASKAS’s collections are carefully designed in order to meet the needs of the modern woman. The clothes and accessories come in a variety of models and colors in limited quantities to satisfy individual tastes. Signature pieces include easy-to-wear print dresses and blouses that can serve perfectly for work, leisure and evening events. All KAASKAS’s collections have been designed and produced in Poland and Italy, cooperating with local manufacturers and using the best quality fabrics.

The winner of various fashion awards in Poland, within the first year after its debut KAASKAS created its own niche and became a style associated with avant-garde. The Autumn/Winter 2015–16 collection, inspired by the photography of William Eggleston and Saul Leiter, was shown as part of the International Fashion Showcase during London Fashion Week and Polish Fashion Now exhibition during Paris Fashion Week. In July 2015, KAASKAS took part in the Polish Ethnodesign Exhibition in Beijing at the National Museum of China. This year KAASKAS was chosen by NOT JUST A LABEL to take part in The Future of Fashion Program and will showcase its Spring/Summer 2017 collection at the internationally renowned Who’s Next trade show in Paris in September 2016.

Both sisters believe that the cooperation of creative people is the best way to bring the element of beauty into everyday life. Artistic energy that runs through the veins of their hometown keeps them moving. They keep their eyes open for exhibitions, happenings and spontaneous initiatives of people from different backgrounds, realizing that you never know who or what might inspire you.
